The story begins in 2019, where they shared a kiss following a comedy night.
Date night number 1 consisted of a romantic bolognaise, which was both eaten and worn.
Officially becoming an item in July that year.
Meeting the wider family was an interesting affair, with a trip to the Woking Party in the Park, a Family BBQ with every person ever connected to the Perry’s, and a trip to Coventry for a Birthday party to meet the extended Hunter clan.
After a while dating, that blonde-haired bloke came onto the TV and announced that from midnight tonight we couldn’t leave our houses. They had discussed the potential of moving in together, and figured “well thanks for the push Boris!”
This led to a mad-dash to Neil’s flat, where they somehow managed to squash not only a mattress in a Peugeot 206, but also several other key items such as Neil’s air traffic control work from home setup, and varying other desired belongings.
The next year and a half were great at Jeni’s flat, there was grass grown, nightmare’s with buying a hot tub, and amazingly an Easter lunch sat outside at the garden table.
As some lockdown restrictions started to be lifted, the couple travelled to Southampton for their first trip away together. The planning of this trip wasn’t without a bit of lockdown in/out hokey cokey rebooking due to the restrictions that had been implemented, but somehow a date was set that by absolute chance happened to be the most glorious weekend in May and was the first weekend where people didn’t have to stand 2 metres apart if they didn’t live together. There they did some amazing things, touring the City walls, enjoying Tapas and Turkish food, and even visiting the Titanic museum.
The country then went back into some restrictions, but despite this, in August 2020, a decision was made to move into the family home just a bit further up the hill to Burnt Common Cottages in Send. After calling in the masses to decorate the house from top to toe in just 2x days, they moved in and turned the house into a home.
Since then there’s been 4x Christmases in the home, a variety of dressing up spanning themes such as Beetlejuice, Chinese & Mexican culture, a gold theme, Alice in Wonderland, Rocky Horror, Batman, and more. The couple have also somehow managed to escape away for long weekends away in Bath, Brighton, and Valencia, in addition to the family trips to Swanage, Langley, Lymington, Woodmancote, the Witterings, Winchester, St Albans, Woolacombe Bay, Coventry, Turkey, Rhodes, and Paris.
In December 2023 a long awaited proposal happened, and well…..here we are today, you’re hopefully coming to join us for our wedding, and help us start our next chapter.
